はじめて「10feet UI」という言葉を知りました。

これはPCなどの画面とユーザーが近い距離場合を前提としたUIではなく、TVなどの画面から10feet(約3m)離れた所からでも操作できるようなUIの事を指しています。

Yahoo!検索とYahoo!画像検索は10feet UIを採用し、文字サイズを大きくしてクリックできる主要な箇所はすべてボタンに変更することで、画面から離れた場所からでも快適に操作できるようになっています。特にWiiのリモコンは一箇所を指し続けるのが困難なため、ボタンのUIは有効的です。

今のところポイントとなるのは以下の内容だろうか。
■携帯と10feet UIとPCとのUIの違い
■URLを入力する手間
■検索エンジンの10feet UI対応

楽しい、使いたくなる感の演出のためには、PCサイトでもなく、携帯サイトでもなく、10 feet UI専用のページ構成とデザインが必要だろう。

新しいサイトを出しても、リアルな認知手段などがないとPCのようには簡単に検索してもらえないということは十分に考えられる。プロモーション、ブランディングの手段は十分に考えねばならない。

  現状は使えるは使えるけど、使いやすいわけじゃない。強いインターネット利用のモチベーションがあってこその現状なので、敷居を下げていかねばならないだろう。

リビングでのインターネット、とくにＰＣ離れがすすんでいるといわれる若年層、そしてＰＣに興味もなければ必要もない主婦層がネットを利用するようになるとチャンスですね。
